I earned my Masters in Social Work with a concentration in family from Saint Louis University in 2004. In order to better understand the needs of couples and families, I pursued additional training and completed 500-clinical hours in a post-graduate Marriage and Family Therapy Certification program at Saint Louis University in 2008. In 2010, I became fully licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in Georgia. As a therapist I believe it is important to continue developing my clinical skills so I've recently completed my Certification in Sex Therapy through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).
It is my passion for people and relationships that led me to this profession. I enjoy helping couples identify areas for improvement in their relationship and find ways to re-connect and build a healthier, more satisfying relationship. I also enjoy working with individuals searching for better ways to manage stress, anger, depression and anxiety. Assisting clients in identifying their strengths and self-worth as well as ways to adjust to life-changes and transitions (i.e. grief, job-changes, relocation, etc.) are among some of the common presenting issues I’ve successfully helped clients overcome. I am able to do this by meeting you where you are on your journey, using a therapeutic process that focuses on your needs and goals.
We all experience situations or obstacles in our lives that leave us feeling uncertain, empty, overwhelmed, or frustrated. Therapy will help you sort through, identify, and make sense of your emotions, thoughts, and feelings to better prepare you for life’s next curveball. Successful individual therapy involves a commitment to the therapeutic process, honesty, and trust between the therapist and client. Opening up about things you’ve never discussed with someone before takes courage and I’m honored you’re considering me to assist you in your process. Our focus is to create a safe and supportive environment that encourages your personal growth and evolution.

Whether dating, engaged, or married the key to a successful relationship is healthy communication. Often times we may feel our partner hears us but isn’t really listening. Or sometimes between hectic work schedules, children, school, bills, and other day to day issues, conversations about your relationship are rare or non-existent. Couples therapy helps couples learn to clearly express thoughts and feelings without offending or attacking as well as listening and truly understanding what’s being said instead of formulating a rebuttal. Successful couples therapy can not only help couples improve their relationship but can make it better than it’s ever been.

Sex therapy assists individuals and couples looking to work through sexual concerns or difficulties. Our sexuality is a powerful part of who we are and can bring us closer to our partners as well as help us discover more about ourselves. On the other hand, experiencing sexual issues can leave us frustrated, angry, rejected, and/or feeling distant from our partner. Sex therapy will provide an environment in which you feel you comfortable discussing sexual issues…
